Carpe Diem

Two posts have been deleted. This is a good thing, a fresh start. Several things are happening in my life right now. One: Waiting for the episode of Californication to slowly load on my DSL. As ir turns out, I'm just a sucker for the quick witted and the fake tits. Hrm. Perhaps this is why Robert Downey, Jr. tickles me so. On that note, anyone else out there excited for Sherlock Holmes? Oh, wow, look at me go. I'm writing - blogging if you will - as if I am addressing some grand readership as so many other snotty little blogging biatches take the liberty of doing. The plain and simple truth is that almost every single post I have made online has been directed at one single individual or another and if random passersby happen to read, power to them (or to me, I haven't decided yet). That reminds me, have we as a culture embraced the contraction in print yet? I mean, I know Dave Eggers and ilk are probably hip to it, but for the sake of doing justice to my lit degree, I feel guilt. I mean, a man's got scruples, no? Well, regardless, I digress...

Thing two: training for a 5K. I ran a 10K a few weeks back and it was an altogether good experience, but my focus was on finishing the race and running with a couple of friends. I feel like I could have run faster, possibly raced a bit, but the distance was a bit daunting. Things to consider. Do I want to man up and go for another 10K? The self satisfaction will be outrageous! On the other hand, it seems healthier to not do something for such narcissistic reasoning. Hrm. Deliberation. Thoughts? Feelings? ... here I go again addressing my invisible readership. To those true souls out there who manage to find this, I salute you!

Thing three: caffeine. Nom (nomnom). I have now rediscovered my love for coffee as the bakery/coffee shop I work at has been rebranding and working to improve the quality of its coffee beverages. This has me drinking 3-4 cups of coffee per day wondering if I'll ever understand the perfect brew. Here's the kicker, I am beginning to think that the customers really don't give a damn. What's in a latte? ...or some such nonsense. Listen, you shouldn't waste your time reading me ranting on. Go out, live your life. Find those things that make you tick, and then tell me about them. If it's not already obvious, I'm out of clever or useful things to say, so I'll stop blathering on. Have a good night out there, and with any luck, I'll not forget about this little blog and someday soon post again. Until that time...
